Never Say Never (Never Knights #1)
Summary:
What girl wouldn't want to be surrounded by the sexy guys from the hottest teen rock sensation in the country? 18-year-old Never "Neve" Knight, not only is surrounded by the hottest boys to hit the music charts, but she is the band's lead singer. As the band's lead singer and manager, Never formed and shaped the band to where it is today, a band on the rise and on the brink of being signed by a label. As one of the guys, she knew each of the band members since they were all snot-nose ten-year-olds. While her boys were the cutest guys and they would protect her like knights, she couldn't date any one of them and ruin the chance at being signed with the record label of her dreams.
That changes when one of the band members suddenly drops out of the band, and in walks Danny Blue, with his dreamy blue eyes, hot body, and British accent. Suddenly, Never's solid world has turned to mush, and her rule for not dating one of her band members is seriously challenged. Can she keep her head straight and get her band signed with a label without losing her heart? Can Never change her tune of saying "never to dating a band member" to "never say never"? Review:
This is a book I think I would have swooned over as a tween when I had no idea how real relationship operated and “crushes” were what everyone gossiped about. As an adult…the book missed for me.
Neve is a badass rockstar with awesome fashion sense. Who wouldn’t want to be a little more like her? Unfortunately, the majority of this book was about the love triangles (quadrangles?). If you know someone for ten years, I’m pretty sure you’d notice if they were in love with you…much less if they’re ALL in love with you. At least in my world, that doesn’t happen. Additionally, I have to agree with other reviewers here, I thought Danny Blue was a major creeper initially! When I realized he was supposed to be the main love interest I still felt vaguely uncomfortable.
All in all, this is a book that had fantastic potential, but the love triangles ruined it for me. I loved the rock, loved the music and the crazy parents, which kept my rating up, but I certainly won’t be continuing the series.
Warning: Contains some sexual content.
Rating: 3 stars!
Who should read it? Music fans looking for a fun light story and don’t mind relationship drama.
