Review:
Before getting into this book, I reread “Chosen” since it had been quite a while since I had read it. (It was actually one of my first reviews!) I completely forgot how dang FUNNY parts of the dialogue are. It’s hard to find an author who is able to make you laugh in the middle of a tense scene. I absolutely love the banter. In addition to having many laugh out loud moments, Breene has come up with a fantastic fantasy series with a strong female kicking butt. For being relatively short books (for this genre), it’s amazing the amount of world building and depth there is to the environment and characters. It is almost like a “light” version of the Wheel of Time version or Tamora Pierce’s books. Gah! Can Cayan and Shanti just please get together??
I am, naturally, chomping at the bit to read the next in the series, which is due in July. Why does it always seem so painful to wait for new books?? I am certainly looking forward to it!
Warning: Contains violence
Rating: 5 stars!
