Vipers Creed (The Cat’s Eye Chronicles #2)

Summary:

Sora is having visions. Strange, terrifying visions brought on by her Cat's Eye necklace, an ancient and magical device. Spurred to action, she leaves her mother's cabin to find Crash, the mysterious assassin who once changed her life. She is certain that together, they can discover what the necklace is trying to tell her.

Crash is still on the run from the dark sorcerer, Volcrian, but now a plague is spreading across the land. Volcrian's quest for vengeance has awakened something far more evil than himself; a force that could destroy the entire kingdom. Together, he and Sora must harness the power of the Cat's Eye and kill the sorcerer before it's too late.... (Summary and cover courtesy of goodreads.com)

Review:

Yup, Crash is officially my new favorite fictional “I want him to be my” boyfriend.  In this book we get to find out so much more about each of the races, each of the characters and get a much better sense of where the series is going.  I think this book is even better than the first and it is really getting fascinating!  My favorite part is that Crash is finally starting to open up a bit to Sora though it is mostly quite non-verbal.  Regardless, Schreffler does a great job making it believable.

Again I don’t think the cover of the book exactly matches what I envision for the character though it is a slight improvement.  It’s actually the next book that we get to know the most about Viper so I feel like the titles for two and three should have been swapped…

OH WELL – cover and title aside, this was a great continuation of the series though I felt it stopped somewhat abruptly.  You’ll definitely be going straight from this one into the next so when you start reading, be prepared to commit to the next two books!

Warning: Contains violence

Rating: 5 stars!

Who should read it? EVERYONE, but start with the first book!
