Review:
I was really excited for this book and I have to admit there were somethings that I struggled a bit to get over. I felt like the grammar was inconsistent and I was confused that it seemed the others in the ragtag bunch spoke “normally”. I loved how Scarlet is a kickass thief who wants to hold her own, but all the blushing made me wonder how she didn’t get caught for being a girl immediately. She also was painfully indecisive with the guys, which I found frustrating.
Despite all that, “Scarlet” is a book that sucked me in and I think I read it in one night. I know I stayed up late multiple times (and took some extra-long lunches) to finish the series as fast as possible. It just seems like the books could have been EVEN BETTER had the inconsistencies above been resolved. She does grow up throughout the book so if you can make do for just a little while, you’ll quickly fall in love with the series.
Warning: Contains violence
