Summer (Dog Days #4)
Summary:
The thrilling conclusion to the Dog Days series!
Cooper Reynolds has been missing for months.
The whole town of Poisonfoot, Texas believes he has run away, proving they were right not to trust him. They believe he left like his brother and father before him: another good-for-nothing Reynolds man leaving the small town in his dust. No one is looking for him.
No one but Lou Whittaker.
Lou knows Cooper was taken, she just doesn’t know where he is or how to get him back. With the help of budding witch, Max, and an unlikely ally in her former enemy Archer Wyatt, Lou is determined to find Cooper and bring him back in one piece.
But time is running out. Summer is upon them, and if they don’t find Cooper before his 18th birthday, they’ll be bringing home a wild animal instead of their beloved friend. (Summary and cover courtesy of goodreads.com)

Review:
In the finale of the series, Dean is able to win me over once again and I really enjoyed the ending of the series. This one is extremely fast paced and its one that I finished in a single serving. I felt like the magic finally was fully fledged and Lou was able to own some of her abilities. (It always bothered me a bit she didn’t receive formal training from grandma.) In some sense I felt that Cooper grew into himself a bit more in this story and he was able move on from his own angst to his relationship with Lou and his family.
The climax of the book was suprising to me, but worked incredibly well. It’s so often that I’m disappointed with the end of series that this was extremely refreshing! Also – epilogue: awwwwwww.
Warning: Contains violence and sexual content.
Rating: 5 stars!
Who should read it? YA fans, but this is certainly one that won’t make sense unless you read the rest of the series – or at least “Spring”. This is more like the second half to the third book.
