Review:

My biggest struggle with this read was that the entire book read like a prequel into the real story that will come in subsequent books.  The other part was that I was expecting something with a touch more fantasy and less dystopian, but that is on my own expectations.   (This mostly came from the cover.)

Nadia is the only loveable character in the futuristic world as she is the only one with true empathy for fellow man.  That being said, she tends to make some questionable choices, which made it difficult to relate to her.  Diesel is a big question mark who never fully won me over though I did like that he looked out for Nadia.  I’m not sure where things are going to go for the two of them in the future. 

I do have to say, the world-building and concepts of reincarnation are completely unique and done really well.  This is not a dystopian world that hesitates to show true human nature when put to the extreme.  The gritty element to the story is certainly unique and could make some very interesting sequels in the series!
