Review:

I was definitely glad to find out more of what happened after “The 5th Wave”, but I didn’t find myself quite as absorbed into this sequel.  First of all, there were some character choices that I was not happy with (I’ll leave it at that to avoid spoilers) so that is a contributing factor.  Secondly, I didn’t feel this book was as focused.  It felt like it wandered around on a couple different things going on, but then towards the end moved the plot forward.

I am definitely creeped out by the layers of this dystopia, so that is certainly something I have to grant Yancey did particularly well.  He manages to have an equally believable and unbelievable setup that keeps you wanting more because you want to know “WHY???”  I will definitely be reading the last in this series when it comes out and will be quite interested to see what direction it goes.
