Review:
This was definitely a polarizing book in the series for a lot of people! I love that Aelin/Celaena has developed so much as a character. Rather than being a selfish, (completely) cocky, egotistical badass, she’s transitioned into someone who considers other people and knows that to be a badass it doesn’t mean you can’t show any softness. I think the character is stronger having developed friendships with other characters and it my opinion it makes her less brittle than she was when she left the continent.
The book climaxes with the court assembled to kill the king, save Dorian and save Adarlan. There are many other things also going on in parallel, including Manon’s world and we even get to see a bit of an overlap beginning. For many things, it’s the end, but for others, it’s just the start!
Warning: Contains repeated violence.
Rating: 5 stars!
Who should read it? Anyone really into the series, you really should start at the beginning to completely understand everything going on.
