Review:

In this book we get to see some of the fall out from the immortals being released back into the realms of humans and the evens from “Emperor Mage”.  This book has an urgency that some of the others don’t as it seems that Daine and Numair are constantly fighting against the clock to fix things once again.  Fortunately due to some of Daine’s kindness, she is able to convert some spies for their own use that may have turned the tide in the war.

I really loved seeing the realms of the gods as well.  It’s so different from the realms of the humans, but in a good way.  We get the sense of how the gods work within their own limitations and how that translates into the human realms as well.  The finale of this book is absolutely vast in its scope and I think one of the biggest battles in all of the Tortall books.

Warning: Contains sexual references and violence.
