A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses #2)
Summary:
Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people.
Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.
With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas's masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights. (Summary and cover courtesy of goodreads.com)
Review:
This book is one of those very rare occasions where the sequel is better than the original book. It was totally mind blowing and has me in full-on book hangover mode for days afterward.
The story starts out slow with Feyre trying to understand how to operate in a world after the events Under the Mountain. She is stuck with very contradicting feelings and some gifts that she didn’t realized she had received. Quickly, in what I’m now realizing is Maas’ MO, the twists and turns come thick and frequent throughout the book. It’s very hard to write a review of the book without revealing any of the twists, so I’ll just say: I absolutely adore this book. I cannot wait until the finale of the series and to find out what happens next. “A Court of Thorns and Roses” was very good, but “A Court of Mist and Fury” brings this series to the same level as “Throne of Glass”.
Warning: Contains repeated violence and sexual content.
Rating: 5 stars!
Who should read it? Fantasy fans that aren’t afraid of some darker themes, but still want a whimsical twist on the storyline. But read the first book before this one!
