Review:

This is a book that I expected to enjoy a lot more, so I will admit part of my rating may be due to expectations.  I did finish the book, but mostly because I decided it was necessary rather than need.  I liked that Alice was written as a strong independent character and resisted the assumptions that were made about her. But the combination of Alice reading like a naïve, innocent character and then switching gears into going to a club and acting like a modern human was a jarring change for me.  What I didn’t like was the insta-love and the way that Alice and Finn got together.

The premise is unique and interesting and had almost unlimited opportunities, which could set up for some interesting sequels.  I think I could have liked the book had I read it at a different point in life, but it just didn’t work for me where I am now.

Warning: Contains some violence and sexual content.

Rating: 2 stars!
