Sea Swept (Chesapeake Bay Saga #1)

Summary:

A champion boat racer, Cameron Quinn traveled the world spending his winnings on champagne and women. But when his dying father called him home to care for Seth, a troubled young boy not unlike Cameron once was, his life changed overnight...

After years of independence, Cameron had to learn to live with his brothers again, while he struggled with cooking, cleaning, and caring for a difficult boy. Old rivalries and new resentments flared between Cameron and his brothers, but they tried to put aside their differences for Seth's sake. In the end, a social worker would decide Seth's fate, and as tough as she was beautiful, she had the power to bring the Quinns together--or tear them apart. Review:

This was a cute series.  I like that the Quinns are a tight adopted family and that even with a little questionable activity they unite to take care of themselves.  Cameron of course is the ugly duckling who has to get back to the family.  I like that the guys are all a bit rough-edged and that makes them a bit more normal.  Their interactions are funny and Seth adds a great dynamic.  Many romance books are a little “too perfect” and Roberts does a good job managing that edge.

This series doesn’t have the heavier paranormal aspect that some of the others do, which some will like and some won’t.  There’s just a touch of embedded in the book, which I enjoyed.  Sometimes the paranormal aspect of her series gets to be a bit too distracting and having a simplified aspect meant we got to know the characters a little deeper.  All in all, I’d recommend the series as a predictable, but enjoyable romance.

Warning: Contains sexual content.
