Review:

This was a lightweight easy-to-predict, but enjoyable romance.  Seeing other reviews my impression is that people had high hopes of a sophisticated deep dive on an interracial relationship, but honestly the normalization of a candy-bar romance with a non-default white on white relationship is still nice.  Yay representation!  Is this life-changing? No.  Is this a fun upbeat romance that was nice when I needed something light? Absolutely.

One of the things that was particularly good was the switching narratives although it’s not without its flaws.  Drew is somewhat rude to Carlos on a regular basis which never quite was explained in reasonable detail.  All things being equal worth a read but be forewarned – there’s a lot of detailed food descriptions and I was constantly hungry when I read it!

Rating: 4 stars!

Who should read it? Folks looking for a modern romance.
