Review:
“Jenny Pox” is a fascinating original new series. I will provide an almost-spoiler/warning: this series tends towards horror, which I did not realize and caught me off guard. Since some people are very horror-averse, I will risk the reader’s wrath in order to give the warning. That aside, I loved the book. Jenny is believable and down to Earth. Her painful manner of living is practical without being overly melodramatic. At risk of spoilers, I will not say too much more, but that you will be guessing up until the very end.
In this book, Bryan sets the stage for the remaining books in the series, but without detriment to the book as stand-alone. If you don’t mind graphic violence (remember she spreads a plague) or sexual content, I would definitely recommend the book.
Warning: Contains graphic violence and sexual content.
Rating: 4 stars!
