Review:

I really enjoyed this book.  I think the main reason folks have such strong opinions on the read is because it is by Stephanie Meyer, which certainly provides strong opinions.  Forget that.  Forget what else Meyer wrote and just give this book an honest shot.  I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

The book certainly has a few sappy moments, but ultimately this is a book about humanity with a romance thrown in.  The relationships are complex, intriguing and realistic.  Forgiveness is not something easily given and this story recognizes that.  People are not perfect.  The science fiction aspect is a little out there, but I found myself quickly sucked into the story.  The book was definitely consuming, I read it very quickly.  It’s a book that I think about years later, which is certainly a testament to the effectiveness of the writing.  I’d highly recommend it, however may be more appropriate for slightly older audiences that Twilight fans.

Warning: Contains violence and sexual references.

Rating: 5 stars!

Who should read it? Science-fiction fans and dystopian fans.
