Review:

This was a great prequel because it filled in some of the gaps about the Pruxnae society and general world building that I had after reading “The Choosing”.  The story is slightly longer than most novellas I have read, which I appreciated because it gave a proper story – not a stunted unfinished book that leaves you hanging.  I love that Alna has plans in her life and that they’re not sacrificed throughout circumstances as it would have been very easy to do.  Varna has incredible skill at makings things vividly come to life in a way that gets you invested in the story.  I am certainly looking forward to additional books in the series!

Warning: Contains repeated sexual content

Rating: 5 stars!

Who should read it? Sci-fi romance fans!  A surprisingly awesome mash-up.
